The Pullens Centre SE17

Investment/Price

Whole day - £30

Half day (lunch incl.) - £20

An immersion into the tools of two styles of yoga: Ashtanga and Yin. I will guide an exploration into these styles creating space for curiosity and discovery of their different qualities and techniques.

Join me at the centre of my local community to share space and explore some different modes of being. Vegan lunch and herbal teas provided.

Why Ashtanga and Yin? These practices have been hailed by teachers and practitioners to be complimentary practices that provide a full and balanced practice. They are the styles that have left the biggest impression on my personal journey to a more mindful way of living, through my in-body experience. This is why I am so excited to share them with you!

If it suits you better to opt in for the half-day feel free to book either Ashtanga or Yin practice with lunch included. Details below.

ashtanga vinyasa

Bringing the Yang energy - the doing.

One of the traditional styles influencing Vinyasa. A set sequence of postures designed to be performed in harmony with breath awareness and Drishti (gaze). This sequence can be memorised and amended to fit the energy of the practitioner practice to practice. We will be exploring a half primary series with lots of variations offered to suit all.

Lunch is provided in the venue. Choose to take a quiet walk down the Pullens Yard or connect with other participants. Your day, your choice.

12:30 - 14:00

yin / Q&A

Bringing the Yin energy - the being. This practice allows practitioners to explore their edge in the postures without force. Expect to hold postures for longer with a listening for body sensation, and a letting go of effort in the posture. An introspective practice; Yin is definitely a gateway to meditation. Very slow yoga, slow and still.

There will be lots of time at the end to connect and ask questions about the practices and techniques, there's no need to rush away.

housekeeping

This is open to all abilities and levels of experience.

What should you bring?

  • Your favourite yoga mat/blocks. (I have a limited amount to borrow free of charge)

  • If you have a bolster this would be a welcomed addition to bring for your Yin practice.

  • Wear comfortable clothing suitable for movement. Perhaps a jumper and socks for Yin.

  • There will be just over an hour between Yoga sessions. Yin is suitable to practice on a full stomach so do not fear or hold back on lunch.

  • A curious mind.
